ParticipantWell… I feel kind of silly. 😳
I went out to my Google contacts online and looked in the Trash. All the contacts were there. I was able to recover them there and now I have them all back. Should have looked there first. I guess I was in a panic.
Thanks!

ParticipantShould have thought of doing that. Now the syncing between Google labels and CB categories is working great. Love this new feature!

ParticipantNo, sorry if I wasn’t clear. The categories themselves are not synced to Google.
What I meant is that unlike Cardbook, if I create categories in TBSync they do not get modified when I do the sync with Google. No contacts are removed from the categories and no categories are removed.
With Cardbook, contacts are removed form the categories I create in Cardbook and sometimes the entire category is removed.

ParticipantOK… thanks for the explanation. I don’t have the same problem in TBSync using the category function there. I was just surprised when my categories started to disappear in Cardbook.

ParticipantAfter further playing around with Cardbook and reading other info on the web I see that it isn’t possible. That is too bad. gContactSync somehow found a way to do this despite Google’s limitations which seem to prevent Cardbook and TBSync from being able to handle mailing lists. It would be nice if either Cardbook or TBSync were able to figure out what gContactSync was doing for mailing list and incorporate that into their add-ons.

ParticipantOK… then the problem must be on my end. When I go into customize toolbar the Cardbook icon is not even available to be dragged to the toolbar. I tried removing Cardbook and re-installing it and that didn’t fix the problem. I am on the same OS and the same versions of TB and Cardbook as you are.

ParticipantThanks for this workaround. Will this be fixed in a future release?
