Hi- I am new to CardBook
I tried to solve a longstanding problem on Thunderbird, that is to import exported vcf contact files out of a folder which have been exported from Windows Life Mail 2012.

I created a new Adressbook folder “Test”, left klicked it and selcted Import from a folder, last menue Item on the list.
Selct the folder containing the vcf files, click select folder, but nothing gets imported.

Other Adressbook exist which might contain same e-mail adresses. Does this prevent import?

      Thanks for help

it’s likely that you have 2.1 vCards… edit your vcf file and change 2.1 with 3.0 and retry the import…

Yes, then the edited (to 3.0)  vcf file is correctly importet.
But I can’t edit 500 vcf files one by one.

Can there be a switch in Cardbook to import older vcf’sor is there a conversion built into Cardbook I can use?
      That would resolve it.

      Thanks

I found a free external conversion tool….works via import 2.1/export 3.0 into/outof  an excel file:

      vcard-Grid

      Done!

      Thanks for Help

      Good to know!

Do you have a link to the tool, as a reference for other readers?
